Marketing Manager - Infinite Video Platform Product Marketing

Cisco Service Provider Video Software and Solutions Group (SPVSS)

Daren Mallard manages Cisco’s efforts to communicate its video strategy and its broad array of end-to-end video solutions, to Service Provider customers. In this role, he works with customers, and collaborates with various Account Teams, to position Cisco’s technology and pursue next-generation video opportunities. He also evaluates the video product portfolio, relative to competitor solutions and video market technology trends…and has been in this position since 2016. Prior to his current role, Daren was a Technical Marketing Engineering Manager, within SPVSS, from 2011 – 2016, and a Marketing Manager in the SPVTG Sales & Business Development organizations, from 2006 – 2011.

Daren joined Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. in 1997, spending more than four years in a variety of finance roles throughout the company. Prior to the company’s February 2006 acquisition by Cisco, he spent almost four years in Scientific-Atlanta’s Investor Relations group, communicating the company’s results, strategy, technology and opportunities to the investment community. Before joining Scientific-Atlanta, Daren spent four years with Ernst & Young LLP, and four years on active duty with the United States Army.

Daren currently serves in Leadership within Cisco’s CBP Employee Resource Organization, on Cisco’s Citizen’s Network – Greater Atlanta Leadership Board, and STEM/US2020 Lawrenceville Steering Committee, and leads Cisco’s activity with the Junior Achievement of Georgia Fellows Program. Accordingly, he has specific responsibilities for partnerships with Junior Achievement of Georgia, the Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology (GSMST), and the Gwinnett County Public Schools Mentoring Program. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Southeast Chapter of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) and as president of the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA).

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Daren earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Morehouse College (cum laude graduate), his license as a C.P.A. from the State of Georgia, and was awarded two Army Commendation Medals while on active duty. In addition, he has successfully completed the CTAM University Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School. He and his wife Kimberly reside in Brookhaven, Georgia, two miles north of the city of Atlanta.
